Abstract

Objective: To isolate the common bacterial Pathogens from burn wound at District Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pakistan.

Methods: From September 2018 to September 2019, a total of 50 samples were collected from burn patients with a history of various weeks of hospitalization in various public and private hospitals in District Bannu and shifted to the Pathology Department, Bannu Medical College, Khalifa Gul Nawaz Teaching Hospital, MTI Bannu for further processing. Traditional microbiological methods were used for isolation and identification.

Results:  A total of 56% of wounds samples were found positive for the presence of bacterial pathogens, commonly isolated pathogens were Pseudomonas. Auerginosa (42.85%), Staphylococcus. Aureus (35.71%), Escheria. Coli (28.57%) and Salmonella Typhi (25%).

Conclusion: it was concluded that most common isolated pathogens were Pseudomonas. Auerginosa and Staphylococcus. Aureus followed by Escheria. Coli and Salmonella Typhi from burn wound in hospitalized patients.
